“ This is a classic Cuban food establishment with plenty of tables, booths, and cafeteria style counter style seating if you're solo and want a quick meal. It's also great for large groups. The service is great and the food is your typical run of the mill Cuban food. Nothing spectacular but satisfying and what you expect. I've mostly been at this location for breakfast and keep coming back because they're consistent. The menu doesn't change. You can't go wrong with breakfast! ”
“ Felipe, this is for you. Graciela took care of us at bird road. My son had a croqueta preparada and quite frankly, it was one of the best sandwiches we've ever had. Graciela requested the Croquetas to be freshly fried and all that my son said is that all of the ingredients in the sandwich are absolutely delicious. I told the manager Mauricio that the experience was phenomenal. He said that his desire is always to make every patrons visit to be a very positive experience. Congratulations brother your father would be very proud. The restaurant was impeccable. The ambience was as beautiful as ever, and the food was the best it's ever been. Congratulations to the owners and to all that work here. ”
“ We haven't gone to la carreta in a while but when we did go this morning it did not disappoint. We found all the food very good and at very reasonable price. The service was very good and everyone was friendly. The ambiance was that of a typical Latin breakfast/brunch place. A lot of motion and a lot of people enjoying good food at a good price ”
“ Ordered to go! I got the vaca frita with rice and beans. I got a side of maduros and toastonas. The food was felipe's and came with a decent serving size! I was able to eat it twice for dinner. The meal was delicious but the vaca frita had a lot of fat. I would definitely order again. Also, I wish they sent th meal with more than one lime because it was deli's but had to add more. ”
“ A Miami staple for a reason! I absolutely love coming to Miami and having Cuban food at La carreta. The food is always delicious here. I ordered the ropa vieja and beans and plantains and they were all perfect. The portions were pretty big as well. We ordered a yuca as an appetizer and I absolutely loved the garlic sauce that came with it. The service was really fast as well. I can't wait to go back next time I'm visiting Miami. ”
“ La Carrera Restaurant is one the quintessential Cuban restaurants in Miami (along with Versailles). The food and service are usually good. The ambiance is quiet today (not usual). It is pretty clean and is always a place to go for a quick bite. Today, I ordered the Pan con Bistec and it was very good. I usually eat one 1/2 here and take the other home. I love the familiarity I feel at La Carreta, it has many memories of family lunches or dinners. So, I like the food but also love the feel La Carreta evokes. ”
“ La Carreta is. Cuban cuisine restaurant located on SW 40th Street, also known as Bird Road, in South Florida is a familiar spot to enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine. I was sat near the bar as I was by myself and enjoyed a comfortable booth and great, friendly service. While waiting for an oil change nearby, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Cuban sandwich paired perfectly with a cortadito, a strong and sweet Cuban coffee. The key lime pie was a refreshing start to a satisfying meal. Yes I started with desert, as my palate was fresh. Before leaving, I took a colada to go, which proved to be a fantastic pick-me-up for the rest of the day. Whether you're a local or just passing through, La Carreta's vibrant flavors and welcoming atmosphere are not to be missed. ”
“ Somehow I never ate at this restaurant despite living in South Florida practically my whole life. Well, I went yesterday, finally. We walked in and the restaurant was packed! They sat us quickly though. He wanted breakfast and our server said that was a $1 upcharge. It sounded odd but he said that wasn't a problem. Then, she came back and said he could not get breakfast. We got there just after 11am. The whole menu is in Spanish. I knew enough to understand which sections of the menu I would not order from. He ordered us ham croquettas and plantain chips. The croquettas were good, just like ones I have had elsewhere. Nothing really special. The plantains were probably made hours earlier and were stale. He told our server and she brought a fresh batch that were hot. I only had a couple because I don't love these in general. The lemony garlicky sauce was pretty good. I ordered the ceviche. This was pretty good. This is something that when I love it, it always tastes the same. Fresh lime taste is vibrant throughout it. This ceviche was made with lemon I believe. I love lemon too but am used to lime for this. The fish was okay. He ordered a medianoche sandwich. This was ham and cheese. I ate almost half and this was very good!! I ate the pickles and they were high quality. I also drank a pineapple soda. I never had this before and it was really good. I might have gone with a 3 star for this restaurant but when I peaked at the bill, I was so surprised it was only $28. I definitely thought something was left off the bill but it was not. This place is a great value, especially if you are a large party. ”
